Yaoundé International Business School held its annual YIBS Youth Week Activities this February 2026. Students, lecturers, and staff participated in a series of events that energised the campus with pride and purpose—the week included a community clean-up, a sports tournament, a talent show, and a grand social night. Each event had its own feel, but they all shared one goal: to bring the YIBS community closer together.
Youth Week at YIBS is more than just a break from lectures. It is a chance for students to lead, serve, compete, and celebrate. Here is a full look at what made YIBS Youth Week 2026 so special.
Clean-Up Campaign: Promoting Community Responsibility
YIBS Youth Week kicked off with a clean-up campaign in the Simbock neighbourhood. The event was organised by the YIBS Student Government (SUG). Students showed up with cleaning tools and a clear sense of purpose. They swept streets, cleared waste, and left the area visibly cleaner than they found it.

This was not only about picking up litter. It was a message. YIBS students wanted to show that they care about the world around them, not only their grades. True leadership means taking action in your community, and that is exactly what they did.
The campaign promoted clean living, civic pride, and student engagement beyond campus. It also strengthened the bond between YIBS and the nearby community. As the SUG put it, service to your community is one of the highest forms of leadership. The students lived that out.
The YIBS President’s Cup 2026: Celebrating Sportsmanship and Teamwork
From February 13th to 21st, the YIBS President’s Cup took over Charcoal Field at Rond Point Express. Every day at 11:00 AM, players from all levels and departments lined up to compete in football, handball, and basketball. Lecturers and admin staff also joined in, making it a true all-school event.
The tournament was electric from the very first day. HND 1 students went head-to-head with their senior classmates and even their lecturers—the B.Tech.

Teams played at a high level. Some matches ended in draws, keeping fans guessing right to the final whistle. The crowd grew larger with each passing day as more students came out to support their teams.
It all came down to the grand final on February 20th. One team lifted the President’s Cup trophy and took home the title. But beyond the result, the tournament reminded everyone at YIBS what sport can do: it builds teamwork, tests your character, and brings people together in a way few things can.
Mr. and Miss YIBS 2026: Showcasing Confidence and Talent

Running alongside the sports action was the Mr. and Miss YIBS 2026 competition. This competition gave students a platform to showcase their confidence, talent, and personality. It is not only about looks. Contestants had to perform, speak well, and carry themselves with poise.
Voting was open to everyone through the YIBS website. Students could back their favourite contestants with a click, which got the whole campus talking. Social media buzzed with support, debates, and excitement as the competition heated up.
The show is a reminder that YIBS is full of talented young people. The school gives them a platform to shine, and they make the most of it every time.
Grand Social Night 2026: A Memorable Celebration

On Friday, February 27th, Campus B came alive for the YIBS Grand Social Night. This was the closing event of Youth Week. It brought everything together in a single celebration. Students, staff, and special guests filled the venue for a night packed with talent, glamour, and great memories. Mister and Miss YIBS contestants show on stage. Each one showed the confidence they had built throughout the competition. YIBS students wowed the crowd with dance and singing performances. Proving there is no shortage of talent on this campus.
One of the biggest moments of the night was the handing over of the President’s Cup to the winning team. The room erupted. It was a well-earned reward for nine days of hard work and sportsmanship.
The night went even more special. By two guest stars: Miss Teen Universe, Nathalie, and Miss Kaba Africa, Naderge. Both women brought grace and inspiration to the event. Their presence demonstrated only how far the YIBS name reaches.

A Week to Remember
YIBS Youth Week 2026 was a success from start to finish. Every event, the clean-up, the sports, the pageant, and the grand night showed what YIBS students are made of: driven, talented, and ready to lead.
Events like this matter because they shape the full person, not only the student. They teach you how to work with others. How to serve your community and carry yourself with confidence. That is what YIBS is about.
To every student, lecturer, staff member, and guest who was part of YIBS Youth Week 2026, well done. The passion is alive, and the future at YIBS is looking very bright
