As I take up the duties of Vice Chancellor of Yaoundé International Business School, I am humbled by the prestigious legacy of the School and of its Administration. The students, the Alumni, the Partners and the Stakeholders have succeeded wonderfully so far. However, human endeavour must continue to grow; otherwise, it breaks down. I am excited about the opportunities we have to further develop YIBS, Cameroon and Africa.
So far, we have developed proven innovative professionals to the best of our abilities; we now intend to drive this innovation in order to foster transformation both in our institution, our industry, our society, our country and in Africa. This can only be possible if we believe in ourselves and our capacity to effect this transformation in all integrity and fairness.
This vision demands:
We must keep improving and innovating our programs to maintain our culture of standards. This way, our products will gain skills, values and success in their fields of choice.
In learning by doing, we emphasise real-world hands-on training, entrepreneurship, and technology so that our students solve problems and create value where they shall work.
In recognising that knowledge without impact is incomplete, we urge graduates to inspire lives, change destinies and contribute meaningfully to the communities in which they are called upon to work.
We continue to depend on our partnerships with businesses, enterprises, government and other academic institutions for the stronger growth of our students and our faculty. These internships, research and development projects are a great benefit to society. Stay engaged with our institution through mentorship, collaboration, financial support, or simply sharing our story. Your involvement is key to what we can achieve together.
Every young person deserves a chance to quality education, in spite of their origin or race. Through outreach and by granting scholarships, YIBS and its partners make sure that all deserving students with drive, even those who may not afford it, can make it despite their situation.
I call everyone on board to realise that meaningful attainment can only be achieved in discipline, hard work, and good morals. That is why, from experience, rules are put in place for every human endeavour. Stay focused so that, as you achieve your goals, you make your family, alumni, and your society proud.
As we develop innovative professionals, we can drive transformation in our environment.
